According to the latest reports, fragility fractures drastically increased in the aging population. However, the literature lacks clear guidance on their diagnosis and management. Therefore, the present review provided the advice on the assessment and management of fragility fractures of the pelvis.

The ageing population and the improved diagnostics have caused rising rates of pelvic ring fragility fractures. Affected persons manifest significant co-morbidities, which need a wide variety of resources, extended care, and substantial financial burden. Although, the record lacks clear information on their diagnosis and control. 

Pelvis fragility fractures act uniquely to the traditional high-energy injuries among young adults, and consequently, their management strategies are also distinctive. The primary goal of management strategy is to regulate pain and recover pre-injury mobility. Early social care planning and multidisciplinary input are necessary. Maximum patients can be operated conservatively. Still, a selected group may need surgical fixation owing to failure to improve with conservative treatment. 

Early discovery of those patients and uncertain fracture patterns is the key to avert progression to complex non-unions. Surgical fixation needs specific attention than young adult fractures. Stabilization of both posterior and anterior portions of the pelvic ring presents a satisfactory biomechanical construct to permit full weight-bearing in this age group. 

This article presents direction on the evaluation and control of those injuries.
