NSAIDs is a chemically heterogeneous group of medicinal products having common mechanism of pharmacological effect, i.e. blocking of cyclooxygenase (COX) -2. NSAIDs are divided into 2 groups in terms of selectivity regarding COX-2, i.e. non-selective (n-NSAIDs) and selective (s-NSAIDs) ones. Various NSAIDs are not different in their efficacy (level of evidence ). The main factor limiting NSAIDs application is GI and CV adverse effects which to a higher or lower extent are typical for all drug products of the group.
