In people undergoing hand/forearm surgery, the use of Lignocaine + Ketorolac was associated with effective reduction in perioperative pain experienced during intravenous regional anesthesia.

A randomized controlled trial aimed to compare the effectiveness of Lignocaine alone and Lignocaine combined with Ketorolac in an intravenous regional anesthetic approach in terms of mean pain and time for analgesia.

Overall, 60 consecutive patients who met the eligibility criteria for hand/forearm surgery were split into two equal groups, each with 30 subjects. Lignocaine alone was used in "Group A" while Lignocaine combined with Ketorolac was used in "Group B" for intravenous regional anesthesia (IVRA).

Compared to Group A, pain relief was better in Group B, as illustrated in Table 1:

In terms of mean pain and time for analgesia, Lignocaine + Ketorolac in the IVRA method was superior to Lignocaine alone in patients undergoing ambulatory hand/forearm surgery.
