However, this oversimplified perspective disregards its intricate role as a highly advanced endocrine organ, possessing distinct characteristics in terms of microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, and physiology. All ingested materials, including our nutritional intake, must first navigate through the complexities of the stomach.
