In patients who underwent root canal treatment of symptomatic teeth, post-endodontic pain was greater in the safe sider group compared to Mtwo and hand instrument groups.

A randomized clinical trial depicted that compared to Mtwo and hand instrument groups, the post-endodontic pain was higher in the safe sider group at 12 and 24 hrs post-treatment. This study compared post-endodontic pain associated with the usage of Safe Sider and Mtwo multiple file systems.

Selection of 150 mandibular and maxillary molars with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis was done. Utilizing Mtwo, hand files, and Safe Sider instruments, root canals of the patients were randomly instrumented. At 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hrs, the severity of post-surgery pain was evaluated with the aid of Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Utilizing repeated measures ANOVA, an assessment of data was done.

In all 3 groups, the mean post-surgery pain score remarkably reduced over time. Contrasted to the other 2 groups, the mean pain scores at 12 and 24 hrs post-intervention were substantially greater in the safe sider group. No profound difference was witnessed in pain severity among the study groups at 6, 48 and 72 hrs. Thus, compared to Mtwo and conventional hand instruments, the use of safe sider was associated with higher post-endodontic pain following root canal treatment.
