To achieve these imaging modalities may play an important role. Enormous advances are reported due to the recent advancements in technology and availability of large longitudinal datasets. This helps compare the predictability of individual features of semiquantitative scores for knee replacement and to formulate different disease progression models. More ultrasound studies have been issued, encompassing the proposed semiquantitative scoring system by the Outcome Measures in Rheumatoid Arthritis Clinical Trial group.
It can be thus summarized that as more advanced emerging technologies are developed in imaging, there are great opportunities to formulate novel incident and prediction osteoarthritis models and to find tissue-targeted disease-modifying drugs.
