What's new?

A combination of Acmella and zingiber extracts, Coenzyme Q10, and vitamin B complex alleviated chronic pain in cannabis-treated pain sufferers and has long-term promising health benefits.

A prospective, pilot, open-label clinical study demonstrated that long-term supplementation of Coenzyme Q10 phytosome, Zingiber officinalis, Acmella oleracea and vitamin B was beneficial to improve chronic pain in medical cannabis-treated people. The study assessed effectiveness of a novel dietary supplement in chronic pain individuals already receiving medical cannabis medication in terms of pain severity, physiological well-being, and quality of life.

Over 90 days, 48 patients using medical cannabis were fed a dietary supplement containing Acmella oleracea and Zingiber officinalis in phytosome (Mitidol), coenzyme Q10 phytosome (Ubiqsome), as well as group B vitamins (B1, B6, and B12) twice daily. In order to study the advantages of product as an adjuvant supplement for pain mitigation, visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to quantify pain intensity, and Italian Pain Questionnaire (QUID) was used to determine pain type and quality. The possible decrease of therapeutic and/or painkiller dosages were all recorded.

Within 90 days, over 70% of participants taking the new dietary supplement experienced considerable pain alleviation, sensory and emotional improvement. After three months of treatment, both cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) dosages were reduced. These findings open up new avenues for the application of a unique health supplement that includes Acmella and Zingiber extracts, Coenzyme Q10, and  B - complex, resulting in a favorable long-term adjuvant therapy in cannabis-treated pain sufferers.

Hence, the combination of Zingiber officinalis and Acmella oleracea extracts along with vitamin B and ubiqsome resulted in safe and favorable long-term pain alleviation, with a decline in medical cannabis doses and analgesic use.
