Arthritis encompasses more than 100 different arthritic conditions which are a chronic, painful, and debilitating group of diseases. Amongst these diseases, Osteoarthritis (OA) contributes significantly to global disability burden, and the years lived with disability (YLDs) due to OA have increased by 75% from 1990 to 2013. OA/ degenerative joint disease/ osteoarthrosis causes inflammation that can lead to joint stiffness, swelling, pain, and problem in movement.
